Be a Maccabean on the Caribbean!
Jewish tradition provides that we prepare for a holiday in the month leading up to the celebration. Here is a wonderful opportunity it is to prepare for Chanukah 2005 during the year that follows our 350th anniversary of Jews in America. The Caribbean is filled with places that were among the first sites of Jewish settlement in the New World. From Surinam, to Jamaica, from Barbados to Curacao and points in between! We proudly offer opportunities for exploring these vital roots of our people’s history, much of which mirrors many of our grandparents and great grandparents search for fortune and freedom.
On board, will be opportunities for meditation, prayer and study. Two study opportunities include:
“From Uriah P. Levy to Hyman Rickover – the history of Jews at sea!”
(Rabbi will share his favorite Jewish and non Jewish folk sea shanties)
“Mayim Mayim! Water Water! The challenging search for mystical truth in Judaism!”
(Some practical meditation will be included!)
Whether it is prayer, meditation or history, which “floats your boat,” this voyage of leisure and discovery will make this cruise a memorable and enjoyable experience for one and all. So get on board!
